A Murder in Ureenrille.
Greenville, Dec. 2*5.?Only one
:uan was killed yesterday in
Greenville. Sam Colemau has an
attractive wife. Alonzo Choice,
r bad negro, has beeu paying attention
to Sam's wife. Yosterday
Coleman and I,on Shields were
walking McBee avenue, both full
< f dispensary whiskey. They
topped at a hou?e and while
standing in the door saw Alonzo
Choich passing. Coleman ru?hod
nut ami struck Choice on the
head .with a tin cil can. Choice
Irew a pistol and fired, missing
Coleman. He then caught him
y the collar, placed a pistol
against his stomach and fired,
'he ball passing through ins in
lestinea. Don Shields, who came
,.ut of the house, started to run,
and Choice fired at him twice,
' :? first bullet hitting him in the
phoulder and the second pkinning
(iirt aide of hip haad. After ahooting
iShields Choice jumped on
Coleman and beat him over the
head*with tha pistol as he wm
lying on the ground. Choioe
walked quietly down to the LauronR
depot,where he was arrenled.
He is now in jail. Coleman died
last night. Shields will recover.
Choice has a bad reputation sea
fiyhter and was under bonds for
court for shooting a negro at a
church festival two months ago.
