Edgefield, Oct. 10.?Mr. Jas. i
Cantelou is one of Edgefield's]
most progressive farmers. He!
does not own a largo number of
acres of land, but ho makes
what he has got pay. Last year
Mr. Cantelou made 000 bushels
of corn and nine bales of cotton
with one mule. This year he
will make 700 bushels of corn
and 10 bales of cotton, notwithstanding
the fact that this has
been such a bad year on our farmers.
The majority of our farmers
will only make about a
third of a cotton crop.
