AN UNUSUAL INCIDENT.
An Evangelist Gets Talked Hack
At Last Night.
Evangelist Randolph preached
at the Tabernacle last night.
Before he began his sermon ho
sang the hymn, " 'Tis the hand
of God writing on the wall".
Rev. Randolph then announced
his text: Daniel, 12-13, "But
go thou thy way till tho end be,v
for thou shalt rest and stand in
thy lot at the end of the days."
Tho minister related the life of
Daniel from his captivity to his
deliverance from the lions'
mouths. Ho said tho greatest
missionary work ever known
began at the mouth of the lions'
den. He said the religion of
Jesus Christ was spreading and
it would not he long before
God's word will be heard in
every nook and corner of China.
Several men walked out of
the church while Rev. Randolph
t was preaching, and lie asked
that no other person leave the
building unless they had the
cramp colic. A few minutes
later while he was preaching a
man got up and started to leave,
and, as he reached the aisle,
Rev. Randolph said, "He has
the colic." The man turned
around and replied, "Yes sir,
and there will be others in here
affected like T am before this
sermon is finished."
The congregation remained
intact from this point unfcii the
close of the service.?Columbia

Dr. W. H. Lewis, Lawrence

Kodol Dyspepsia Cure in my
practice among severe cases of
indigestion and find it an admirable
remedy," Many hundreds of
phyicians depend upon the use
of Kodol Dyspasia Cure in stomach
troubles. It digests what you i
eat, and allows you to eat all the
good food you need, provided you
do not overload your stomach.
Gives instant relief and a perm?nentcure.

Five Thousand Chinese Drowned
by Russians.
London, Sept. 21.?"Authentic
accounts have been received
here," says the Moscow correspondent
of The Standard, "of a
horrible massacre at Blagovestchensk,
which was undoubtedly
carried out under direct orders '
from the Kupsian authorities and
which then let loose the tide of
slaughter through Amur.
The entire Chinese population
of 5.000 souls was escorted out 1
of town to a spot five miles up i
the Amur and then, being led in (
batches of a few hundreds to the
banks of the river bank, was or- 1
dered to cross the river to the i
Chinese side. No boats were pro
vided and the river is a mile
wide. The Chinese were flung
alive into the stream and were !
atabbed or shot at the least re
sistance, while Russian volun- '
teers who lined ' the bank club
bed or shot any who attempted
to land. Not one escaped alive.
The river bank for miles was
strewn with corpses.
This is the season when mothers
are alarmed on account of
croup. It is quickly cured by One
Minute Cough Core, which children
like to take. Crawford Bros.

CRY FOR HELP COMES FROM
GEORGETOWN.
The GoTernor Asked to Order
Oat Militia as a Race Riot
Was Threatened.
Georgetown, Oct. 1.?A race
riot is impending at thiB place
This morning at 1:20 the governor
received an appeal for help
from the major of Georgetown.
The telegram was dated 12.50 a.
m., and the affair must evidently
be serious or quiet would have
been restored before that late
hour of the night.
The governor ordered Col. J.
D. Sparkman, the fearless com
tnander of the cavalry regiment,
I to at once muster all available
troops necessary.
Mayor Morgan's dispatch gave
few details, but the hour al
which it was received indicates
the serious state of affairs. The
message roads as follows:
Georgetown, Oct. 1, 12:50 a. m
To Gov. M. B. McSweeney.
Order Col. Sparkman, com
manding troops, and Capt. Ward,
of Rifle Guards, to report to mayor
and sheriff with companies tc
preserve peace. Negroes are gathering
in large numbers. The
trouble is caused by a negro kill
ing a white man last night. Later
trouble is feared tonight. Order
quick and answer.
W. 1). Morgan,
Mayor.
The governor wired Capt. Ward
to have his company hurried to
the scene of trouble. He wired
Col. Sparkman to issue fhe orders
for any other companies in
his troops if it be necessary to
have an additional force to preserve
the peace.
To Mayor Morgan he wired
asked to be kept posted at every
movement so that he could exercise
every means available to
keep down the trouble.
The negroes in Georgetown
outnumber the whites over
whelmingly.
Do not get scared if your heart
troubles you. Most likely you
nuffcr from indigestion. Kodol
Dyapepsia Oure digests what you
eat and given the worn out stomach
perfect refit. It is the only
preparation known that will
completely digest all clanfiei of
foods; that ifi why it cures the
worst cases of indigestion and
trouble after everything else has
failed. It may be taken in all
conditions and cannot help but
do you good. Crawford Bros.
