Miss Patten went to her class es yesterday morning just a> though nothing unusual had happened. She will teach the session out before she goes to Spartanburg, where they will reside in tin future. Those interested in the welfare of the school here regret very much to lose so valuable ami popular a teacher as Miss Patten has proven herself to be. Her place will bo difficult to fill. Mule Stolen. A mule belonging to Judge Jones was stolen Jrom a back lot here Saturday night and ridden into the country, presumably to Barrett's in North Carolina, and turned loose.
