many of the producers, the result

will he done to a moral certainty
if the farmers in the south are I
misled into planting for a large I
crop, and an increased acreage I
with a lair crop year will reduce
the price again below six rents
The sale of fertilizers in the cot
ton region is larger than hM year
for January, and indicates an in
creased acreage ol cotton, in our
opinion, which is unwise and ^
suicidal from any standpoint ol
the cotton grower. Look at these
figures : 11.000,000 bales of cotton
at 5c., yields $275,000,000 ;
10.000.000 bales at 6c.. yields |
$.'500,000,000; 0,000.000 hales at f
7c., yields $315,000,000 ; 8.000,
000 bales at 8c., yields $320,000,
000. Let every farmer who raises
eight bales compare his profit it u
he increases to eleven bales, and ^
see where he is at when buying ^

cotton. Ho is obliged to use more e
labor in making the eleven bales, a

years shows that he gets less for
it. Think on these things before ^
being deceived by present prices
