The marriage license bill has
been killed by the senate.
Saturday has been fixed bv the
legislature as the day for adjournment
sine die.
Dr. J. L. M. Curry addressed
the joint Assembly last Thursday
on the subject of education. The
address is said to have been a
mafiterlv one.
The supply bill has passed the
house and is now before the senate.
It fixes the State levy at 5
mills. The levy for general expenses
for Lancaster county is
also 5 mills.
The broad tire bill and the bill
looking to biennial sessions of
the legislature are still before
the senate. The latter will re
quire a two-thirds vote to carry
it, and it is said that if it carries,
it will be a close shave.
