Whose Fault ?
We are reliably informed that
the road from Dwight. to Lancaster
has not been worked in more
than a vear, a portion of it not in
18 months. The most of this
section of road is said to be in
a bad condition, some places
wretchedly had. We have been
asked whose fault this is, but we
refer the interrogators to supervisor
Gardner, and predict that
he will ascertain where the fcrou

alarm and in a very ahort time'
about 25 people had gathered
there and by prompt and heroic
work with buckets and water the
flames were aubdued. Quite a
hole waa burned in the floor when
the fire was discovered.

fire originated from rates and a
match, or that it waa incendiary.
There waa no inaurance on the
property and had it. been destroyed
it would have entailed a
heavy loss on ita owner.

Three tracts of land were sold
Monday, two by the Clerk of the
Court and one by the Sheriff'.
The former sold the C. K. Foster
lands, one tract containing 294
acres, bought by .1. Harry Foster
I for $.3,000; the o'her. containine225
acres, brought $2,.300 and was
bought by the same party.
The sheriff sold an SO acre tract
known as the Sings place. It was
bid off by John T. (Jreen, Ksq ,
who assigned his bid to I,. S. I'orter.
