And in the house of representatives
this does indeed seem to n
be the case. The first week of
the incipient session has witness- c
ed caution to a noticeable degree.
There has been no display of
radicalism, and the leading mem
bers are maintaining silence on
the principal measures submitted. ^
It is true that nothing has been
suggested which vas worthy of a ^
fight, but some measures which H
have been permitted to pass al 8<
most, unn-'ticed would heretofore 8
have challenged an exhibition
of torensic pyrotechnics which
would have gladdened the hearts 8<
of the representatives who desirod
cheap notoriety. ^
