against what they claim is their
worst enemy ? the American To 1
bacco Company. Within the past '
few years the price of all leaf to
bacco on the floors of the ware houses
in the tobacco raising sec
tion has been cut half in two, the
representatives of the trust being
without opposition.
In the case of bright leaf tobacco.
used exclusively for cigar ^
etts, the price has in the past
decade been cut from 35 cents
per pound at 12 cents, the latter
tigure being just enough to in
duce the farmers to cultivate it.
