There was a Carolina boy who was his

And here is the sad fate that Carolina
boy met:
lie gets him a copartner; they sold
beef and pork:
He pet* his partner's money and
slopes out to York.
Then he hires to a man to peddle
on tin;
He sold the whole outfit, and absconded
out a (tin.
He tramped daj and night till lie got
to Tennessie.
And there the police put him under
lock and key.
Then before tlie judge, to prove what
he had done.
They found him with a pistol as long
as a gun.
lie gets his striped suit and (lis hair
a liftle bobbed,
A pick ami a shovel, including a sixinonths'
job.
Hut he made his escape, for he didn't
like his boss;
He swam the Mississippi river all the
way across.
Then to Kansas City, there's no telling
what lie done:
Next to New Mexico, there a whisky
shop he did run.
The Mexicans didn't like his tricks,
?nd they gave him a chase
Hack to old Carolina with quite an
ugly face.
Then he would tell his yarns?oh.^uch
a hunter he had been:
him mil inn ih> a worn about tin- pork,

Then In* fools his mother out of both
house anil laud,
And builds him a house, hut built it
on t he sand.
Next came a w oman \vho )ie claimeil

She heat his mother up and tried to
take his life.
Oh, ran any poet tell what will he
their doom.
For they turned his mother out of
both house and home.
