.Town Council Re-Nominated.
Pursuant to the call published
in Wednesday's issue a massmeeting
was held in the Court
House Thursday night to nominate
a Mayor and six Aldermen |

for two years.
The unanimous opinion was in
favor of nominating the present
Mayor and board of Aldermen,
although all of them were anxious
to be relieved from further duty
in that position. Regardless of
their wishes in the matter the
entile board was nominated without
a whisper of opposition. The

Fort Valley, (ia . Dec. 7.?The
wife and child, of Ren Thonia>,
living near here, were burned to
death yesterday. The father had
^ been burning brush in life yard
and the child, while playing near,
fell into the tire. The mother, in
an effort to rescue it, also caught
^ fire. Before assistance came the
