tSellerp, S. U., Nov. 14.?A short
while before dark this evening
the streets of Sellers were the
scene of a serious and probably
fatal shooting affray, as the result
of which Mr. John C. Sellers, a
prominent and highly respected
citizen of the town, is seriously
wounded at the home of his son.

Ben Sellers is wounddd in the
abdomen,' tft. Henry Edwards has
a load dt bird shot in his chest
and J'. Dddley Hazelden, member
of the State board of control, has

Haselden homestead, the message
saying that he wanted Air. Sellers
to settle with him for a number

of bales of cotton which he had
ginned for him some weeke since,
and to remove hia cotton seed,
v^.< which was in his way.
Mr. Sellers went over to Mr.
Haselden's at an early hour this
morning,' and the business between
the two gentlemen was'
quickly settled, after which. Mr.
Haseldeu accused Mr. Sellers of
being the author of the above
mentioned article. Mr. Sellers
emphatically denied the charge,
and Bonge hot words followed,
each gentleman abusing the other.
At this juncture Mr. Hazelden
drew his pistol, but made no effort
to use it. Mr. Sellers was unarmed
and said that was no place
to settle the matter.
At this scene were present, besides
Mr. J. Dudley lia^elden,
f his father, Mr. J. (J. LlaBelden,
i his brother, Mr. L. M. ilaselden ;
Dr. Henry Edwards and Aubrey
Evans.
This morning shortly aftei the
difficulty at Mr. Haselden's gin
house, Mr. H<*selden, in company
with his brother, L. M. Haselden,
Dr. Edwards and Aubrey Evans,
drove into Sellers, where they
stopped for a short while and engaged
in conversation with neverDiscovered
by a Woman.
Another great discovery has
been made, and that too, by a lady

To Jail Before Being Vaccinated.

with the Christian scientists here
on the issue of compulsory vacci
nation. A month ago the city
council adopted an ordinance requiring
compulsory vaccination
and nearly the entire population
has been punctured. Today one
of the most estimable ladies in
Americus, a Christian scientist,
was brought before Mayor Hixon
for refusing to be vaccinated and
the mayor sentenced her to.36
days in the police barracks. Before
the sentence was executed
|Christian scientists asked a suspension
until tomorrow when a
dozen other ladies of that laiih
will be summoned before the
mayor. The ladies declare emphatically
that they will resist
vaccination to the end and will

the British troopship Goorkha,
with the First brigade stalF, the
Third battalion of Grenadier and
a detachment of the Royal engineers;
the transport Manila,
with the Second Devonshires and
the transport Nomadic with the

Town.
The troopship Ilawarden Cas*
tie, with the Second battalion of
the Koval Irish Fusiliers, has arrived
at Durban, bringing the
number of re-enforcements that
have landed there up to 5,227.
Five other troopships are now enroute
from Capetown to Durban.
The total re-enforcements that
have arrived in South Africa,
sinco Friday are 19,000 men,
chiefly infantry, nearly 13,000
horses and mules, three batteries
