the S. C. & G. E. Railway was
returning lrom Chailotto to Cam
^ . den, on Saturday morning last,
an accident occurred which delayed
the train some hours. One
of the driving wheels ot the engine
attached to the train became
detached at or near the switch,
in sight of the station, rendering
the machinery powerless to oper
k ate further for the time. An extra
engine was dispatched for which
enabled the excursionists to leave
at 7 o'clock, a. m.

Died of Heart Disease.
Coroner Young held an inquest
last Wednesday over the body of
Julia Jones, wile of Littleton
Iot.es, who lived about four miles
east of town. The woman was
found dead in the bed Tuesday
night. She had been up with some
sick children during the night,
but went t > bed later on and died
suddenly and without anyone
knowing it. The verdict, of the
jury was that she died from heart
disease.
