A sensation was created in the session of the African Methodist Episcopal presiding elders' council of Georgia and Alabama to night when the committee on the state of the country reported a resolution recommending that a committee be appointed by the council to set before the United States congress the deplorable condition of the negro population in several of the southern States and to petition for an appropria tion of .$100,000,000 to start a line of steamers between the United States and Africa in order to enable all negroes who may desire to do so to emigrate to Africa.
