Drummers and Trusts.
The drummers, numherine
350,000 men, are said to he solid
ly opposed to the trusts. Tr.e reason
of their opposition ir obvious.
The trusts destroy their ocennation.
It is estimated that 75 000
of them have already been thrown
out of employment bv the m??n?>nolies,
and that not more than 50,
000 travel in c men in all will tie
needed on the road when the processes
of combination now on foot
are consummated It is said,
moreover, that the fireat bod v of
these men will vote in the next
presidential election for the party
that is most pronounced in its
opposition to trusts. If tlr.s be
true their ballots will, of course,

There is hardly another class of
of men in all thecountrv that can
accomplish more in a campaign
than the drummers They are the
liveliest and most aggressive and
persistent workers in thecountrv.
They do more hustling ami more
talking than any other Has*-,
They will make themselves telt
in a way that will show itself
most perceptibly in the final result.
The Democracy could nave
no more potent allies.

DWIGHT LETTER.
Mr. Editor:?The recent raint
have wonderfully revived the
spirits of our farmers as well at
the crops.
There has recently been considerable
corn planted in this
vicinity on landR that had previously
been too dry and hard.
Miss Crete Hilton, a charming
young ludv from Longsville, it
visiting relatives and friends in
this neighborhood.
The young people of Dwight
gave a sociable at Buford School
house on the afternoon of Satur
day 10th instant. Nearly all of
the young people of the neighborhood
turned out, and all present
seemed to grea*ly enjoy the
occasion The time was spent in
social ch-.\ playing croquet, mar
tiles, and baseball,?in fact the
young people of Dwight always
enjoy th'-mse'ves when together;
they are not only pretty, hand
some, and clever, but above all,
they are good. The boys not only
I -ve the girls but love each other ;
hey also love and honor their
parents, and they enjoy the love
and confidence of their parents.
Be it said to the credit of the
voting pen de of this neighbor
hood th jt there is scarcely a tobacco
or snuff user nmonc them,
or a young man that can be
induced to drink whisky. They
are interested in themselves and
in each other, and a great many
of them are ambitious for an
education. Many of the parents
ate fullj alive as to the importance
of giving their children opto
date educational advantages
and he*i<|ea they are energetic,
clever, and generous people,
Taking all these things into consideration,
we can only predict a
bright future for Dwight.
A number of the voting men ol
this neighborhood are pursuing
