Mr. Editor: Ah I have not
seen anything in your valuable
paper from this part of the moral
vineyard, I will attempt to give
you a few "(lots" from thin seetion.
Well, the dry weather has
pi von nearly all the farmers the
blues, but I think lint : enrol

a short time; but 1 would dare
say that the average farmer has
a gloomy prospect before him
now. There are several farmers
in this section that cannot finish
planting their crops until they
get. rain and a great many report
had stands, especially of cotton.'

Some are planting corn, peas, etc.,
on the land where the cotton has
not come up; others are waiting
until it rains.
The health of the community
is generally good, although some
few cast's of sickness exist. We
arc glad to unto that Mrs. W. H. I
Sapps, of Tradosvillo, who has
been quite siek with fever, is itn j
proving. Wo also loarnod that
Mrs. .1. K. Carnos has boon quite
sick for a few days.
Mr. ('. W. Ilarkey and his
boaotiful and accomplished niece,
of Stout, N. C, who have been
visiting relatives and friends in!

Whoever may chance to visit our
neighborhood are alwavs charmed
by the grand appearance of our

influence is held at. a very
high standard; hut what we can
boast of most is tho young ladies
are among the fairest of the land

from all parts of the country.
Tabernacle is on a "boom"
generally. The young ladies of
the congregation have succeeded
in raising money to get a new
organ for the church, and the instrument
has been ordered, and
we hope in a short time that it
will bo at its place, ready for use.
We have preaching on tho first
Sunday at 11 o'clock a. m.
and the third Sunday at 3 p.
m. We also have a good Sab- i
bath school and trust that much
is being accomplished in leading
the young people to Jesus.
Air. Editor, this is not the j'enr
for candidates;but if you will come
around about the first of August
we will make you think that you
are one anyway.
We will not have a great deal
of fruit to give you, hut spring
chickens are doing well, and, as
you know that means success to
picnics and protracted meetings.
Well, Mr. Editor, bicycles are
very common now. hut they are
not so useful at times. I know
a young man that was intending
to take a young lady to church,
not long since, but his wheel had
hut one seat, and another "fellow''
came along in a buggy?alas!
for his bicycle. I will close
for this time, for fear that mv
communication will find its way
to the waste basket.
