of the pay certificates and re- y
ceipts for bounties and money of a
almost every one of those patriotic
militiamen who served in the j
militia regiments of Gens. Sumter, r
Marion, Pickens, Barnwell and \
Henderson during the last few ^
years of the Revolution, besides
those of many of the militiamen
who served in the siege of Char- s
leston and earlier in the war.
There are also many accounts
and vouchers from individuals lor
previsions furnished the State of (
South Carolina for the use of the ,
militia, the State troops and the |
Continental troops. And. by the
way, the United States Govern- j

the State of South Carolina for .
