The force numbers 27,000 men
j composed of infantry, calvary,
. artillery, engineers and a Rignai

The infantry consists of twentyseven
regiments, sixteen regulars
and eleven v.oluntoers., as follows :
Of the regular regiments, the
j First, Second, Fourth, Sixth, Seventh,
Highth, Ninth, Tenth,
Twelfth, Thirteenth, Sixteenth,
Seventc enth, Twenty-lirst, Twenty
second, Twenty-Fourth and
Twenty-Fifth.
Of the volunteer regimentB,
there were the Seventy-first New
York, Thirty-second Michigan,
Fust and Fifth Ohio,Second New
j York, First District of Columbia,
