Kev. J. W.Little stood in a buggy
on the street near the bank
laHt Saturday evening and
preached against the sale and the
drinking of intoxicating liquors
as a beverage. There was a large
crowd that heard him and among
them were some who came here
to buy whiskey, but after hearing
that sermon went home without
buying their toddy. He will
preach on the street again next
Saturday evening at 3 o'clock.

l'omaria 111 Newberry county has
at last succeeded in convicting
i three of the gang of robbers that
have for some time infested that
town. In the Newberry court last
week Albert K. Riser and two of
his sons Willie and James, were
convicted of housebreaking and
larceny, and the two former sentenced
to the penitentiary for f? j
and one month, the latter to |si
months.
