RILEY'S LUCK.
Riley was a lazy follow
Never worked a bit
All day lonn In some store corner
On a ehntr he'd sit
Never talked much ? too much troubleTired
his jaws you see
All of us were making money;
'Jest my luclt!" says he.
Some one ottered him ten dollars
If he'd work two days
Riley crossed his legs and looked up
At the sun's hot rays
Then ho leaned back in tho shadow
Sadly shook his head
"Never asked ine till hot weather
Jest my luck!" he said.
Riley courted Sully Hopkins
In his lazy way
\\ hcu he saw Jim Hudson kiss her.
"Just say lucU!" he'd say.
Leap year came, aud Mandy Porktn*
Sought his sompuay.
Kllcy sighed and married Mandy
"Jest my luck!" says he.
Kllcy took his wife out fl?htog
Iu a Utile boat
i Storm blew up and turned them over,
Mandy wouldn't float
Kllcy sprang Into the rlvor.
Seised her by the hair.
Swum a mile unto the shore, where
friends palled out the pair.
Mandy was so full of water
Seemed she'd surely die.
Doctors worked with hor two hosrs
Ere she moved an eye.
1 hey told Kllcy she was better,
Doctors were In glee,
liilcy chewed an old pluo splinter.
"Jest my luck:" says ho.
