It is one of the most Important in town as there always many thousands of dol lars worth of property at the freight depot, especially at this season of the Al year when so much cotton. is on the platform, and it is absolutely neces- C sary thal water should be kept in the he cistern. It is siid that she shot her husband several times, and then g struck him in the head with an axe. The house which ha. been occupied r some time by Mr. Wm.K. Mc rley and family was destroyed by e on Saturday morning at about 3 lock. The fire is supposed to have 'iginated in the kitchen as the fire as burning fiercely in that part of e house when the family awoke and ve the alarm.
