LOCAL INTELLIGENCE Tuesday, October 3.- - 1899 LOCAL BRIEFS. -Judge 0. W. Buchanan is holding court i Gaffney this week. He left here on Saturday. -The southbound train was several hours late on Monday, not reaching here until after twelve o'clock. -There was no service in St. John's E:iscopal Church on Sunday, Rev. Mr. Aliston not being well enough to conduct the services. -In anticipation of a large amount of fall trade some of the stores have secured an extra force of clerks and are now preyared to meet the inash. I Shell, of Laurens, we take from 1'e State. Mr. Shell was a brother of Mrs. S. B. Crawferd, of this place: Laurens, Oct. 1.-Mr. Frank C. Shell, son of ex-Congressman G.
