Those who failed to attend missed a musical treat. D. L. Stevenson, &hooi Commissioer NATTIiEWS--3IADDlEI. The n'rriage of Mr. John E. tt. tews to Mis Mamie Madden was per formed at the A. R- P. Church on Thursday evening at 5.&0 P. M. Long before the hour appointed, the house was filled with friends and relatives of the principals of this event. That restlessness and exp'ctat:cy which characterixes all audience, at church weddings was noticeable, and as the appointee hour approached a movement of all beads was rade wi:h military precission in the direction of the door as some belated spectator would arrive. The decorations b,re evidence to the appreciation of the bride and groom by their many friends. A festoon of green and white draped gracefully over the a.chway of the pulpit' while around the pulpit was a beautiful ar raugement of choice flowers tastily placed by artistic hands. The expe--ta ry of those present was soon rthevtd by the stately :trea:l of of the ushers who preceeded the bride and groom in the fol:owintg ordrr: Mr. C. W. Madden, brother of the bride, with Mr. John H. McMaster, and Mr. W. R. Elliott with Mr. W. M. Cathcart The former pair advancing up the right aisle, the latter up ,he left, each couple taking a position on either side fronting the pulpit. Then followed the bride leaning on the arm of the groom, coming up the left aisle and taking a position in front of the minh i,ter, Rev. C. McDonald, who per fcrmedj a brief but irapressive cer emony. The bride wore a stylish traveling gown of biown and electric blue cre pon, carrying in her haud a bouquet of choice chryantbemuais from Mi'ss Garirsons conservatory. The groom wore the regulation black suit. After the ceremony the couple re pa:red to the waiting room at the de ,ot and took the.6 o'clock train for Atlanta, the best wishes of a host of friends following them. Dr. R. B. Hanahan returned trom the Exposition on Thursday evening. Miss Maggie Stevenson return< d Friday from a pleasant trip to the country. Mr. and Mrs. C: M. Chandler re turned from Charleston Thursday Miss Lula Jenkins returned to her liome in Ridgeway after a visit to Miss [nura Ger ig. Mr. J. F. McMaster is home from a rip to Atlanta. Miss Nannie Thompson returned from a visit to Charleston on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. WV. S. Rosenstock, of San Francisco, Cal., are stopping at the H3otel Duval. Mrs. Rosenstock before her marriage was Miss Leav entrett and for a long time was a resi dent of Winnsboro. Her father car ried on a large dry goods business be fore the war in the building now owned ad occupied by Mr. F. Gerig, and moved from here to New York-. Mr. David Leaventrett, his son, is now a prominent lawyer of the metropolis. Mirs. Meat is sold in he market here that is unfit for even he buzzards, and people who any it, really cheat the buzzards out of their ues. Broken leg calves, when put on he scales to be weigbe? leave blood n the scales, and others wIth broken egs lay for eight or te:z days, near he point of death, are butchered and old for cheap meat. Others buy meat y the quarter~ and do not care what hey get so they think they are saving wety-five cents. Can you sell bran for meal or cloth as cheap as paper?
