Timms is putting up a new fence around ber premises. -Fred Steele has a pumpkin which measures over four feet in circumfer ence. -The saiprise party at Mr. W. H. Kerr's residence .on Thursday night was a great success. -The Steam Fire :Engine Company held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday night in the Town Hall. -Messrs. McMaster, Brice & Ketchin are making some improvements in their store, putting a neat coat of paint here and there and remodeling their shelves. -The B. P. U. had better lookout or there will be a funeral shortly. Some of the old ones are said to be making prodigious efforts to hand in their checks. -The County Democratic Execu tive Committee held a meeting in the Town Hall on Thursday. The com -ti cided to postpone the primary that the negroes Leld a large meeting on Thursday. 1is thought that it was to discuss politi 3.bont two hundred were present. Dot)'s Weston place, shot him self on ThurEday evening while care lessly handling a loaded gun. Tony undertook to put. a double-barrel shot gun into his house by holding it by the muzzle and thrusting it into the door. The hammer rtruck The door sill which caused the gun to explod, emptying the contents into his body. The wound is considered very serious. He will probably die.
