of the fire on Sunday morning was the
active part taken in it by 'Mr. Fred A.
Stewart, the traveling agent for the
well-known notion house of Ilutzler
Blros., of IBaltimore. Mr. Stewart.

Fire in Winnsboro.
Shortly after midnight, Satui-day-,
some of the citizens of Winnsboro
were roued by 10oud cries of fire, and
shorily aft-er the harsh alarum of
the fire bell brought all the rest out it;
the street. There could be no uncer
taintyv as to the wvhereahouts of the
fire,.for from the hig~h elevation in
the upper of the town, on which 31'1
G. H. McMaster's residence was situ
ated a glare as bright as niooniday
illumined everythuing for miles around,
so that houses as far off' as Mr. James
LMcCuly's--seveni or eight miles
