'Tis like a dream I Yes, my three
months sumnmer vacation: among the
worthy citizens of Fairfld appears
like a well-remnembered dream, and
how when I am on the eve of depart

There are little seasonis in otut' lives
which we can unever forget, and I feel
that tile past summer has been one to
whieh I will often look back with
gentdino pleasure.
I came to Fairfield in May, an en

many new acquaintances, and some
dear and devoted friends. True, my
circle of acquaintanceship has been
limited, but it has beeni pleasant,
Kindness, courtesy and crattkness are
prominent qualitiea in tihe hearts of
Fairfld peoplie, and are qualities, too,
which soon win the heart of the stran

is a trial not altogether a sinall onue,
lBnt in g'oing away I have the comfort
of knowing that often In the future, in
my hours of reverie and dreams, I will
live over again those happy suimior
days which have just prissed. Th'iis is
the most a beautiful past can give us
a precious memory--and which to me
is nearly as dear as reality It'self.'.
For intelligence and business tact
