-Locusts have appeared in count

fectly harmless.
-Mr. J. R. Monts is now well set
tled at Rock 11111, and we have no
doubt he will be successful in his busi
ness there.. He is a skillful workmen,
a good citizen, and deserves to sue
ceod.
-The Governor has 'ordered an:
election- to be held in the first congres
sional district on the .9th of June, to
fill the vacancy occasioned by the
death of the Hion. M. P. O'Connor.
-The Comnmissioner of Agriculture
Is desirous of receiving specimens of
minerals and agricultural products
from diff'erent portions of the State, to
be placed on exhibition in his office.
-The State Board of Health has
sent to Dr. TV. TV. Robertson a supply
