One day last week Mr. Clarke cane to- Augusta', and while In the city ho purclase 8010 troches for a cold, which lhe put loose in the pocket, where they were con stantly colniig. in contact with the lead. While returning to Vasselboro on the cars he felt atickling In his throat, and to allay the irritation par took of several troclies. His tongue at once began to swell and turn black, and by the tien he reached hone he was dendly sick. A physician was sumintioned, who proInptly adininister ed nitidotes for the poison. It is said that a piece of the lead of one of these pencils, helt' the size ofa pea, will cause the death of a robust man. As these atitomatie or copying pencils are in general use in Wlnnsboio, it is well to call attention to the above.
