The circumstaices of the killing are as follows: Mr. Wesley Eidsoni, who lives in the Cloud's Creek neighbor hood, was on his way home, and when near Captain Jack bates' was met by Mr. Thomas Goodwin, who was on his way to Batesburg. Goodwini asked Eidson for a drink of whiskey, but was told by the latter thathe did not have any, whereupon Goodwin told him lie w as a d-d liar.
