Santa Claus,-as to usual, did not forget the little tolks,.w3ho had clean stockings awaiting him,.' which were filled with iany Uttle iretties that will cause them to remember with pleasure the Christmas- of 1880. On Christmas week a very enjoyable eve ning party was given at the residence of Mr. Ed. Robinson by. his daugh. tors, each of whiom strove to make thje eveniing as pleasant and agreeable to the guests as could be deelred. An other party took place at the residence of Mr. James Stevenson on te 6th ultino, and was greatly enjoyed by all those who attended. The evening wits passed in playing games, etc. Among the young ladies that were present were Miss Maggle Robinson, of Halseliville, S. C., and ff this neighborhood, Miss Nettle Stevenson, Miss Minnie Pope, Miss Ellen Steven son, Miss Maggie Stuart, Miss Laura Stevenson and Miss Joana Pope. Ow ing to the inclemency of the weather the crowd was sualler than expected. Much of the enjoyment is to be attri buted to the kind hospitality of Mrs. Stevenson, who indulged the young people in all that was proper. The music was givei by M. James Stev Dnson, Jr., who did his part well, for which the company was very grateful. F or the benetit of the press I beg to to state that ",Jedge" and myself were "thar," and did enjoy ourselves. We are sorry to learn of the loss of seven or eight head of cattle, owned by Dr. Douglass, which were frozen Lo death during the cold spell That his just passed. Hands are somewlhat plentiful this year, but have little to begin with in the way of corn. There remains 6ne cotton in the fields yet to be picked.
