A firm calling itself Gaylord & Co.,
of Chicago, has been sending circulars
about the country lately. It ofiers to
give away pretty nearly the whole city r
of Chicago for a postage stamp. This

is too generous. Olflr declined with
thankq. We hope none of our readers
will be so foolish as to be gulled by
any such offers as a fifty dollar paint
ing for tell dollars, or an imported set
of china for four. It is too thin.

SECTIzON 1. Be it enacted by the
Senate and House of RIepresentatives
of thue State of South Carolina, now I
mnet and sitting in General Assembly, 11
and by the authorit of the same, I
That fthe town of Blythewood, In the
county of Fairfield, e, anld the same
Is hereby, incorporated, and that all
the rights, powers and privileges now
conferred upon the officers an<d citizenls
of the town of Ninety-Six, in tis State,
are hereby conferred on and vested in
the officers of town of Blythewood.
SEto. 2. That the officers of said towvn
shall consist of one intendant and four
wardens, who shall be elected annual- c
ly on the 2nd Tuesday in January, and
that J. L. Wardlaw, James Bookhar~
and W. H. Jones are hereby ap)pointe1
managers to conduct and declareo the
first election of said townl.
SEC. 8. That the limits of said town -
shall extend one-quarter mile north ~
and south and, one-quarter mile east e
and wvest from the Blythiewood depot t
of the Charlotte, Columbia and Augus- t
ta Railroad Company.
SEC. 4. That this Act shall take ef
feet from and afterits passage, and shall
remain In force until repealed.
