Iis foot caught in the .,pokcs and his le" was twisted around the axle, the thigh being libroken and the bone prot ruding. THE, CHAnues'rON Eu.:c-rio.-A. dis patch from Charleston, dated Decem ber 9, says: "The mainicipal election to-day was quiet and. orderlv. The contest was triangular,.between Cour ionay, regular Democrat,. Sale who also claimed to be regular Denmocrat, and Gayer, independent D.emiocrat. The last named waus generally supportu ed by the liepublhicani headers. Theli colored vote was divided between the three candidates, Couretenay receiving a large portion of it, including the longshoremoen, who supported him in a body. Returns to-night indicate that Courteniay is elected, and his friends claim for him-I 1,000 nmajort y over the combined vote of Sate and Gayer. Donly, whose nowv and well arranged store stands on the corner of Congress and College streets, is also up to time for Christmas, and * lihas just in store a lot of staple and fancy groceries, such as hams, dried beef, mince meat, - pigs' feot, saur rat macaroni, cheese, etc. Mr. Donly is a wide-awake merchant, and keeps fully up to the times both as to prices and varieties of goods. Mr. F. W. Habonloht announces the recelipt of a fine stock of w inee, bran dies, whiskeys, segars and tobacco, in anticipatin of the Christmas Holidays. * Mr. Habeunicht has hadl Jong experience in all branches of lis business, and when ho says a thing is fine~he know's whereof he speaks.-At his saloon, near tihe passenger depot, lie is also prepared to supply fIsh and oysters, always choice, fresh and palatable.
