Reformed Church of this place, htis
been compelled to resign the pastorate,
owing to enfeebled health. During a
period of sevenuyears he has fithfully
ministered here, and has been e

all with whom he has been thrown.
The church has greatly prosperedl
under his charge. We trust that the
nudisposition is biit tonlporary. The
cluich ueets this afternoon to con
sider the re<iguation.

ment on foot to run an "independent"
ticket for town council. We trust
,steps will be taken to crush anly such
movement. There should be a meet
ing of the' Winnsboro Democratic
Club (or of sucn members of it as re

a full tilcet slould be nomnin:ated.
And nobody but men of oithodox
Democratic principles should have a
place on the ticket. The lessons of
the munticipal election of last year

tendant. The present incumbent. James
A. Brice, Es.q., has given entire satisfac
tion, and it is due to him that ho -1ould
be again placed at the head of our mu
nicipality. In addition to being a gen
tlieman of thu bigbest integrity and per
sonal chiaracter, he is a Democrat of the
straightest sect. 1He has, moreovt-r, ad
minist.ered the affairs of the town with
signal ability, and has proven eminently
worthy of the honor conferred upon
him, By all means let him be re-elected,
if for nothing alse, at least in recogni
tion of a faithful discharge of duty.
