THE GoVENjxoa's CONDITION.-The
Columbia Register of Sunday morning
says: "There was an unfavorable
change in the condition of Governor
11ampton yesterday, which caused
considerable uneasiness upon the part
of the people, and telegraphic dis
patches were sent to Charleston for
Dr. Kinloch, and to Augusta for Dr.
Campbell, requesting these gentlemen
to repair at once to his bedside. A
special train left Charleston yesterday
afternoon with Dr. Kinloch, who was
expected here last evening at eight
o'clock. We trust that.bythe skill. of
the eminent surgeons who have lis
case in hand and those who have been
summoned to their aid, and through
the mercy of Iim who doeth all thmimags
wisely and well, that this bitter cup
may pass from our lip)s, and .that the
p)eople of this State may shortly le
able to-praise God for his goodness to
them in granting Wade Hampton
many more years of usefulness to his
peop)le." Th'le Reg~ister adds: "We,y are
happy to loain tlhat tile 'cdudition of
the Govermior has imiroved very
much since the above was written;
