I . For the purpose of raising supplies
for the year commencing the first of
Ap)ril, 1878, and ending the first of April,
1879, a tax for the iums and in the man
ner hereinafter mentioned shall be raised
andl( paiid into the treasury of the said
town for the use arnd servioe thereof, that
is to say: twvo and one haltf mills ad m;alo

the real and personal property within
the corporate lhmits of the said1 Town of
Wminsboro; three dollars to lbe paid by
every male inhabitanta of said town, be
tween the .ages 0of eighteen and forty-five

the amount of all sales at anotion.
2. All taxes assessed and pafyablo
under this Ordinance shall ho paid in
the following kinids of funds and no
other: Gold and silver ooia, United
Ntat es Currency and National Bank
Notes.
3. All taxes assessed heroin shall be duo
an<d payable betwveen the first day ot
October, 1878, and thme thirtieth day of
November, 1878, inclusive; and all taxes
remiaining duo and unpaid on the first
day of December, 1878, shall be collected
by distress or otherwise, as now pro
scribed by law, together with all legal
costs.
4. All persons holding property in the
corporato limits of the said Tiown of
Winnsboro, are required between the
first day of August, 1878, and the six..
teenth (lay of September, 1878, to make a
sworn return of said property for taxa
tion, to the Towvn Clork, and the said
Town Clerk is hereby required, when
p)roperty-holdors fail or refuse to make
said sworn return, to add fifty per con
tum to the return of the previous nmunic
ipal year.
