There is a curious story about some nlative wines which are extensively advertised nowa days, and ha~ve only rece ntly been put upon the market. D)r. Underhill, the well-known grape-grower of Croton~ Point, died in 187r. Some of his hleirs entertained temperance views .of such extreme kind, that they were imnwiliimg to allo0w the stock of wines then on hland to be sold or any more to be made. 'he grapes hlave sometlmes been sent to manrk.et, and1( sometimes left to decay upon the vines. It is only nowv that the other heirs hlave succeeded In arranging for a settlement of the estate and the snle of the wines on hand. Among these is a wine of the vintage of 186., described as a "Sweet Union Port,'' but sutggesting tile Imper'ial Tiokay more than) an~y othier European wine, and being wholly unflike any other wine of American growth. Its purity , age and mellowness are remarkable, a2nd both1 phlysicians and wine7 fanlciers have a special interest in it as the oldest native wine now accessible in any con siderable qluan)tity. The whole stock is in the Ihands of the welli-known wholesale jrocery house of the Th1urbers8.-'.N. Y Triun1 Nov,.9,1& | c The above spenks for Itself, but we would add that this Is tihe pure juice of the grape, neither drugged, lignored nor wtaered; that It has1 been ripened andl mellowed by age, and for medicinal or sacramental purposes it Is unsurpassed. It can be obtained from most of the leadling Druggists throughoutt the United States, and at wholesale from the undersigned, who will forward descriptivq pamphlet, free of charge, on appilcation, Respecifully, etc., H.
