taken. Mr. Gaillard had voted on
every measure as he himself would
have voted, except on the phosphate
bill. He ought not to have surren
dered on the third reading, but
should have stood firm. He wanted
{ ! a different sort of representative.
The issue had done good, in bring -
ing ont a full attendance. He
would always oppose making the
lawyer a law-maker. The lawyor is
in antagonism to the farmer, and is
expected in the Legislature to enact
such laws as will bring him business.
In conclusion he would say that he
was a National Groonbacker. Noith
or of the old partios could give him
relief in national matters, though in
State affairs he would ally himself
with the Democrats. He now re
signed the presidency of tho club,
and gave notice that on Thursday
he would endeavor to organize a
greenback club. He was now a free
man.
The resignation being accepted,
Mr, T. W. Traylor was elected
president, and Mr. D. J. Meador
vice-president, by acclamation. A
resolution was passed to recommend
appointive offices by primary elec
tions, and the club adjourned.
The meeting was very well attend -
ed, and the best of feeling displayed.

grape-grower of Croton Point, died in ?87r. I

unwilling to allow the stock of wines then on

of the estate trad the sale of the wines on

of ?864, dlescrib ed as a "Sweet Union Port,"
burt suggesting te Imperial Tioka y more
than any other F.uropean wine, and being
wholly unlike any other wine of American
growtha. Its purity, ago and mellowvness are
remarkable, and both physicianas and wine
fanciers haave a sp)ecial intere't in it as the
oldest native wine now accessible in ainy con
