In consequence of a press of other matter of interest to our readers, wye omit this morning our usual editorials. TlE SMALLEST OF MOT:ERS. A Woman Only Thirty -two Inchos in Stature--Her Matrimonial Experl enco. [ 1r1on the .St. Louis Times ] Mrs. W. H. Bristol, bettor known as Fannio 3urdotte, who has becen travoling for years with Forep:mgh's Circus, gave birth on Wednest:y night last, in the C)lmuorcial Hotel, to a child weighing eight pounds. The mnother weighs about fifty pounds and i only thirty-two inches in stature. Her lisb.e:t.l is of full size, being six feet in height and weighing 145 pounlds. The infant wtas healthy and well de veloped, but in order to proservo the life of the mother it was neces sary to sacrifice it. The pangs of maternity lasted seven houls, be - ginning at 8, a. im., and ending at 3, p. in., and if the little woman h t:l not possosnod an iron constititioni shte must have died. During the whole of these long hours of agony she inaintaiinedl ainost C)Iml)leto silence, uttering only a few mno-1s, and struggling against all extraordinairv exhibitions of p_ins. The couple live been lnrrie .1 two ytars, aind this is their second child. the first was still-born. Mr. Bristol was formerly at doorkeeper in the employ of Foropaugh's circus, and in this capacity becamel acquaii ic.l with his wife, who wias then travel ing under the management of that. show with a twinl brother, who is an inch shorter than herself. They were called the Burdetto twins, and always traveled togetber until Mrs. Burdotte's Confinement last. spring, when the brother eontinued the engagenent aloie. They are in the tweLty-first year of their age. Mrs. Bristol was born in Mont gomory county, Md., on a l'armi near the little village of D.liaseus, where her parents still dwell.
