TOT.L ASTI:NCE S%UNG WINE TILL IT
IIPENS.
Thcrc i; a curious story about some native
wines which ato exstcnsivclv advertised nowa
<l:iv,, und have only riecetly been put upon
the market. Dr. 1 ntdrhill, thec well-known
grape-grower of t:roton Point, died in 187r.
Soie of his leirs entertained temperance
views of Such "streme kind, that thev were
unwilling to ailow the stock of wines then on
hand to be rol or any more to be made.
The grapes have sometimes been sent to
market, and ometites left ti deceny upon
the ines. It i; only now that the other hcirs
hw ive t.nceecdl in arranping for a settlement
of the ea:. nan< the sale of the wines on
h.nul. Among these il a wine cf the vintage
of tS., leseribed as a " Sweet Union Port,"
>ut suggesting the Itiperial Tokay more
than any o'her European wine, and being
wholly unlike any other wine of Atnerican
growth. Its purity, .1ge and mellowness are
re"mark;able, and both phlysicians and wine
fanciers have a special interest in it as the
oi-" ati te winte now accessible in any con
ilr (h i tln itv. t he whole stock is in the
it.md"; of tie well-known wholesale grocery
house of the 'Thurbcrs.--N. Y. Tribune,
N\ov. 19, 1377.
The above speaks fo,r itself, but we would
ncd that this i. the pure juice of the grape,
neither drugg?e.f, /iguenrd nor uatered; that it
has been ripened and mellowed by age, and
for medicinal or sacranental purposes it Is
msutrpassed. It can _e obtainc< from most
of the leading D)ruggists thiroughoutt the
Unitecl States, tand at wholesaile from the
undeclrsigned, w ho( w i fo rwarel descriptive
pamphlet, frce of charge, on application.
