On Thurrday George MeKoy,
alias John W. Scott, who was serv.
ing a term in tho Hamilton county
(Ohio) jail for robbing a postoffico
in Green county, Ohio, was pardoned
out by President Hayes and taken
to Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he
will be tried for the murder of John
McCormick, a wealthy haardwaro
merchant, who was killed in 1875.

haustion.
A special to the Galveston News
reports another train robbery on the
Texas Pacific at Mesquite. The train
was stopped and the engineer and
fireman were taken from the engine.
The express messenger and route
agent barricaded themselves, but
th! robbers saturated the car with
coal oil and smoked them out. The
express and mail were then plun
dered. Conductor Alford and two
of the robbers were wounded. The
plndering party numbered twenty.
The passengers were not nolested.
The scenes at Lord Leitrim's
funeral in Dublin, last week, were
very violent and disgraceful. A
mob that gathered in front of the
chIiurch end(eavo red to capture the
hearse, declaring their intention to
drag out the corpse. They vituiper
ated the late Earl as an old ruffian
andl heretic, and they also climbed
tihe wvall of the chu'chyard, hustled
thle mhourn.ors, and cheered, yelled
and hissed during the reading of
the service. Several mourners were
roughly handled while endeavormng
to make their way imato thme church
yaird. All of them had to pass out
>an unfrequented way from thme
church, in order to escape violence.
Fifty constables were present, but
were wholly unsuflicient to cope
with the mno b, many of whom were
drunk.
