Historical Society, a few days since,

belonging to the collection . of the

ago two copies wore sold at auction

one0, printed upon1 palper, broughit
$14,000 gold ; the other, on vellum,
brought $20,000 gold. Usually a
vellun copy of any wvork brings
four or five times as much as a
paper one but t he history of the
Mfazarino Bible raises the value of
the paipdi copies relatively to those
onl vellun. (Gutenbhorg printed the
first popips in~ 1455i, and all those
woro on paper ; in 14561 Fauat got
possession of the types, and his
edlition was partly on vellum. Those,
consequently, are not so completely
