' "The American Warwick," as the
papers are calling Judge Bradley,
seems indeed to hold the fate of the
Presidency in his hands.. So far, he
has been the only member of the
Commission who has not voted inva
riably in strict accordance with par
ty bias. u the Florida case, it will
be remempberol,:he, voted with 4le
Democrats on - the minor. question
inquiring into the ineligibility of
Electors. The even division of his
fourteen colleagues in the Commis
lion throws a tremendous responsi
bility upon Judge Bradley. It is
plain that if lie chooses to act with
the Republicans throughout, the
result will be the declaration of the
election of Hayes and Wheeler ; if
on any essential point he should
feel constrained to vote with the
Democrats, it would be the triumph
of Tilden. The count has now
reached Louisiana, and if, as is
probable, the party division in the
Commission remains as hetbtofore,
Judge Bradley must decide' the vote
of the State. The caso of Louisiana
differs in man respects from that
of Florida. In the latter case but
one set of Electors voted on the
first Wednesday in December,
and but one certificate bears the
signature of any person claim
ing to be Governor of the
State at that date. In Louisiana
both seks" of jmen , claiuning to be
Electors met. and cast ,their -votes
on the day appointed by law, and
both received certificates from per
sons claiming to be Governor of the
State. It may be that the Cowmis
sion, that is to say Mr. Bradley, will
feel called upon to decide who was
the legal Governor of Louisiana on
the 6th day of December. Thore
are other phases of the case which
make it different from that of Flori
da. Even the cases of allegad in
eligibility are different, from the
fact that Brewster and Levisee do
not claim to have resigned their
offices beofore the election. The
Louisiana case will present several
new points, and it is very far from
certain that the decisions thus far
made settle-theo finel1 roesylt.-,-.News
