They were delighted with their outing. Miss Effle Hopper spent Sunday in Blacksburg. Mr. C. C. Biggerstaff was called to Cleveland county, N. C., Friday on account of the illness of his mother. He returned yesterday and reported that she was much better. Mr. J. B. Brown, of Ravenna, spent a few hours in the city yesterday with friends. Rev. A. D. Davidson, of Beaverdam, was here yesterday shaking hands with his friends. Mr. J. J. Vassey. who lives just west of the city, was in town yester day. John is one of the best shots in the county. Saturday evening he | killed a fine 'possum, which had lodged high up in an oak tree on Mr. Banks Perry’s place. Mr. W. H. Martin, of the Battle ground section, was in the city yes terday. Mr. J. ('.
