1 GAFFNEY LEDGER Does not go into every home in Cherokee County. Why? Because one-third of the homes belong to colored people and only about one out of every ten read a newspaper. The other two-thirds belong to white people and THE GAFFNEY LEDGER does not reach all of them. Why? There are sev eral reasons. Some cannot read; some claim they are too poor to pay for a newspaper; some say we ask too much for THE LEDGER, and some don’t like it and would not take it as a gift. But the fact remains that it is paid for by more Cherokee County people than any other paper pub lished in the world. Why? Because IT PRINTS THE NEWS And if you want to keep posted you might just as well make up you»* mind to either take a copy or borrow your neigh bor’s. You simply cannot depend on any other source for a thorough chronicling of the events of Cherokee County. THE LEDGER prints about thirty-six columns of matter every week and at least 50 per cent, of it is concerning people of Cherokee County or people in whom Cherokee County people are interested. We want to serve EVERY NOME IN CHEROKEE COONTY We know we can never do it, but that does not prevent our desiring to do it. At the price, $1.50, for two copies a week, we give you more for your money than any other vendor of news. If you go into a store to buv a suit you can get a shoddy suit for $ 10.00. If you pay $ 15.00 you can get a woolen suit, or one that has so much wool in it that it will wear twice as long as the $ 10.00 suit. Just so with a news paper. We can furnish you a newspaper containing half the news once a week for $ 1.00 a year, but if you want all the news we can furnish you a paper twice a week for $1.50 that will give you ALL THE NEWS OF CHEROKEE COONTY Send in your subscription at once or come in and let us talk over the matter.
