Judge Pritchard, of the United States circuit court of appeals, has just filed his decision in the cases of Puffer Manufacturing Company, The Liquid Carbonic Company and the In ternational Harvester Co. against A. C. Pridmore, as trustee, of the Lip scomb Silica Springs Co., bankrupt. The above parties sold machinery to the Springs Company sometime be fore it went into the hands of a re ceived. After the bankruptcy the trustee took charge of the machinery as assets of the bankrupt, the ven dors claimed it by reason of condi tional sales. Referee Speer, held that the title to the property was in the trustee. J. C. Otts, attorney for the vendors appealed the case to the United States district court. Judge Rrawley reversed the referee and or dered the property turned over to the vendors. W. S Hall, attorney for the trustee, appealed the case to the United States circuit court of ap peals, the ease was argued by the at torneys at Richmond in May. This week Judge Pritchard filed his opin ion sustaining the judgment of Judge Rrawley. The machinery, which is valued at about $1,S00. is ordered turned over to the vendors, and the unsecured creditors will get nothing. Carrier’s Contest. There will be services at the Metho- thodlst church next Sunday morning at 11:15 o’clock by the pastor. Rev. S. B. Harper. He will also preach at night at 8:30 o’clock. Sunday school begins at 10 o’clock, conducted by-L. G. Potter, superinten dent. All strangers and visitors cordially welcome to attend all services. An Enjoyable Occasion. Last Tuesday Mrs. R. H. Kirby celebrated her seventy-third anniver sary. The children decided to sur prise Mrs. Kirby by gjving a dinner in honor of the occasion. According ly all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who could be reached, together with a few friends, were quietly notified to be present. At 1 o’clock dinner was announced. It was served in picnic fashion and was one of these old time hospitable affairs in which everybody present knows and feels the hospitality. It was a splendid dinner, excellently served as the manner in which it dis appeared amply attested. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Lipscomb. Miss Lola Rurgess, Mr Junie Rurgess, Miss Irene Rurgess Mr. and Mrs. Wofford Kirby, Mr. Lawrence Kirby, Miss Lula Amber Kirby. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wyatt, Mr. Ernest Wyatt, Mr. F. D.
