HEALTH VERY
We had the pleasure of attending
the Press Association at Gaffney last
week Gaffney did herself proud on
that occision. The guests were enter
tained at Limestone College while in
Gaffney.—Farmers Union Sun.
The Press Association, which con
vened last w r eek at Gaffney, was one
long to be remembered by the news
paper men of the State. The town
of Gaffney has always been noted for
its charming hospitality and the
ease with which it makes all of its
visitors feel at home.—Summerville
News.
A lack of space and time prevents
us trom making good our promise of
last week to write up that delightful
trip .to Gaffney. The pleasures of this
trip were so very fascinating and en
joyable for us to forget, and there
fore as we have no limited time, in
which to tell our readers, we feel that
we are not robbing any one by the
postponement. We have a whole
! twelve months ahead in which to tell
j of this delightful treatment by the
: people of Gaffney and the many
cl B?d Coilgh. pleasures will forever remain in our
memory.—Dorchester Eagle.

One of the pleasing incidents of the
meeting was that the Association was
given quarters in the large spacious
rooms of the dormitory of the col

raised in Cherokee county except the
tea, coffee and sugar, eat from plates
made out of Cherokee clay, wiped our
association. After adopting resolu

kindly aided in making the of
press gang so pleasant, the meeting
adjorned to meet in Greenville next
year by special invitation.
Immediately after adjournment, the
association was treated to a really
enjoyable clasiral musical by Miss
Dew, music teacher at Limestone,
ably assisted by Miss Hames and Mr.
Lipscomb.

Meeting of Press Association.
(Bishopville Leader and Vindicator.)
The Editor with his two daughters, j meetings in full, but will simply say
Misses Imo and Lutie, attended the
annual meeting of the State Press
Association which met at Gaffney
last week.
Nothing of interest occurred along
the route except that we noted form
the car window, that the crops above
Columbia were small as compared to
the Lee county crops. But any one
at all acquainted with the nature of
these red clay lands, know that they
ne\ er grow off as fast as those of
the sandy lands of the low country.
We arrived at Gaffney about 4:30
A. M., but at that early hour found
that the whole soul Ed. DeCamp, Edi
tor of the Gaffney Ledger, and the
hospitable people of that thriving
and enterprising little city, had tak
en the Association in charge as their
guests and a carriage was soon driv
en up to the depot and took us out
to Limestone College, where the As
sociation was holding its session.
Limestone Colleg# is situated on
the outskirts of the city about one
mile from the business section. The
site is an ideal one for a college and
contains large lawns shaded by ma
jestic oaks and covered with pretty
grasses, well kept. Dr. Lee Davis
Lodge is the President and moving
spirit that has Drought Limestone Col
lege to the front rank of female sem
inaries in the State, ably assisted by
Prof. Griffith. There were 200 stu
dents enrolled during the session just
closed and Gaffney may well be
proud of her female college.
It was founded In 1845 and the
main building was built the same
year, but has been added to from
time to time to meet its growing
needs.
After some routie business, the
good people of Gaffney headed by
that prince of good fellow Ed. De
