Our inability to attend the conven

of the interest and enjoyment of the
meeting and the whole-souled hospi-

Gaffney has won the good will and
affection of the press of South Car

of the South Carolina Press Associa

that came to a close there yesterday.
The hospitality of the Gaffney peo
ple has known no bounds during the
past week, and all that thoughtful
ness and a genuine warm-hearted
spirit of welcome could offer the
newspaper people were theirs at the
hands of their hosts. The meeting
will long be regarded as one of the
most delightful as well as one of the
most helpful and instructive ever held
by the press of the State. Such gath
erings are good—they bring together
the men who in reality are more close
ly in touch with conditions in the
State than any other company that
could be gotten together and their
meeting face to face for a discus
sion, not only of things pertaining to
“the shop,” but of matters of public
| concern, broadens the view of all and
doubtless enables them to labor more
; intelligently and hopefully for the
1 common good. There are few editors
who are not at heart enthusiasts, full
of faith in the future and confident
that the world is growing better.
