I am now, there is a fery distinct
recollection in my mind of that

Now, really, hasn't this been a
real meeting? There have been
Moore and Chief of Police Duncan, thirty-odd annual gatherings of the
who located him on Mrs. Webber’s association before, but Gaffney gets
place near Gaston Phoals at an early ' Pennant. The percentage stands
hour yesterday morning. The negro an even thousand; or ought some de-
was defiant and stated that he would 'inction be made for those of the as-
die before he would submit to arrest.
Chief Duncan informed him that he
had better make bis preparations for
death then as he certainly intended
to take him. Seeing the officers were
determined the negro submitted and
was taken to Bhvksburg for examlna
tjon after which he was brought to
Gaffney and eomnitted to jail.
Several lots near the First Graded School. These lots for
an investment or a home are exceedingly cheap and very
desirable.
