Why is it that the average man is worth so muc.; less in i. oney
and property than we have a right to expect hir%
to he * It isn’t because he doesn t make the
money, for the average man is industrious and
has earned from $10,000 to $30,000 in the past
ten years, it is because he doesn’t give much
serious thought either to his income or ins outgo.
Serious thought would ■each him the true value
of a dollar; then he would spend carefully and
save steadily. That sy.s.em soon places any man
ahead of his fellows.

kee church on the same day, Rev.
Wall conducting the funeral services.
Mr. Wood was an uncle of Fletcher
Wood, of our city, and was forty
years of age. He leaves b wife and
four children, two sisters, Mrs. P. W.
Humphries and. Mrs. S. R.< Humphries
and one brother, Mr. Cleve Wood. He

Mr. W. N. Foreacre, general super
intendent of this division of the South
ern Railway, spent Wednesday in the
city, coming from Blacksburg to Gaff
ney in his private car over the Gaff
ney branch. Mr. Foreacre is one of
the best equipped and most popular
railroad men in the South, and if all
the officials of the Southern were as
approachable and as affable as he,
that great corporation would meet
with a great deal less hostility than
it ddfes throughout the system. Mr.
Foreacre hag made many warm
friends iu Gaffney who will always
be glad to welcome him to our little
city. Mr. Foreacre was accompanied
by Capt. Lemmons, supervisor of
bridges and buildings on this division
of the Southern.
