WHEN WE SOLICIT YOUR PATRONAGE for this bank we
do it because we feel that you have confidence in the bank and
the jaen behind it. We urge upon you the use of our banking
privileges and our facilities for enabling you to save part of your
income, for several reasons. In the first place, without loyal
public patronage, there would be no banks, and without banks
there would be no mercantile or manufacturing concerns from
which salaries and wages are derived. Each one must have the
co-operation of the other in order to exist. Remember that in
carrying a bank account your interests are as much involved as
those of the bank. We want your business whether it is large or
small, and we offer you the service of a financial institution that
is proud of the record it has made in this community and the
standing that it has with the people. If you once get in the hab
it of depositing regularly, you will very soon appreciate the mu
tual advantage of this financial system of which our bank is part.

When the court of common pleas
convened Tuesday morning, after
adjournment Monday, it wag thought
pear here tomorrow night in the big
musical hit, “The Yankee Drum
mers.’’ There have been many stories
tcld about these brothers who look
so much alike but this is credited* as
being true. During their company’s
visit in Fargo, N. D., and wnile one
of the twins was seated in the office
of the hotel, a controversy came up
between three or four traveling men
and a Texas cattle man as to wno
could run the fastest, the Texan de
claring he could out run any one in
the party for a new hat.
The twin, to play a joke on the
gentlemen, announced he would take
the bet If they would arrange the
race so each one started back to back,
run around the block until they met,
then back again and finish at the ho
tel. It was at once agreed upon and
the twin immediately went up stairs
stating that he would be ready in a
few moments. He at once told his
brother of the affair and who after
understanding the arrangements left
the hotel by a back door and stationed
himself in the middle of the back
block the other coming out- stood as
per arrangements and the race start
ed.
The Texan dashed around the cor
ner and when half way around the
block he found his adversary ahead
of him. The traveling men were ny
that time on to tfte joke and howled
with delight, at which the lanky gen
tleman shouted all out of breath, "111
bet you two hats you can’t do It
again," and away they went The
Texan found the same one quitely
smoking when he reached the hack
of the block and on returning to v
starting point found him there also.
He never said a word but bought the
hats and don’t know now how he was
beaten.
